The R2 Sud commuter train (Rodalies de Catalunya) runs directly from Barcelona to Sitges in about 35–45 minutes. Trains leave from the main city stations — Barcelona Sants, Passeig de Gràcia and Estació de França — roughly every 10–20 minutes, and Sitges station is a five-minute walk from the beach and old town. A single ticket is inexpensive (Sitges is in fare zone 3); an integrated travelcard is cheaper if you travel often.
There is no direct train from the airport, but it is straightforward: take the R2 Nord train from the airport (T2 station) into Barcelona and change to the R2 Sud towards Sitges/Vilanova — around 50–70 minutes in total. Alternatively, a taxi or private transfer takes about 30–40 minutes and costs roughly €60–80. Some coach services also connect the airport and the Garraf; check current timetables before you travel.
By car from Barcelona, the fastest route is the C-32 motorway (about 38 km, ~40 minutes), which has a toll through the Garraf tunnels. The alternative C-31 coast road is free and scenic but slower and winding. Bear in mind that parking in Sitges is difficult and pricey in summer; use the car parks on the edge of town and walk in, or consider arriving by train.
Coach operators (such as Mon-Bus) run services between Barcelona and the Garraf, a useful option at night when trains are less frequent. Once in Sitges you can walk almost everywhere; there are also local buses to the outer neighbourhoods and taxis. For a car-free trip, the train plus walking covers most needs.
